Sliding connection between mesh edges?

When two linear mesh edges are in contact with one another in Karamba, they form a rigid connection automatically, is there a way to choose a different type of connection? i.e. a hinge, or a sliding connection?

At the moment (Karamba3D 1.3.1) elements get connected when they have coincident points. In case of beams different types of connections may be prescribed via joint definitions - see the manual for details. A sliding connection for large displacements is currently not available.
