SKP File Export Improvements Rhino WIP

We continue to improve Rhino compatibility with Sketchup (SKP). These enhancements will help teams which use both Rhino and Sketchup together. In the Rhino WIP there are changes making Rhino models better organized in Sketchup:

  • Rhino geometry is individually grouped in Sketchup to avoid working with many disjointed meshes. Grouping all objects to keep them separate objects, keeping the Rhino geometry intact making the files much easier to work with.
  • Block units are preserved properly within Sketchup components. This allows the proper use of Reset Scale option within Sketchup while working with Components.
  • All faces and edges are tagged in Sketchup with Rhino Layer names. So, this allows visibility and locking to work with the same granularity in Sketchup as in Rhino.
  • Added Merge planar adjacent faces option for merging adjacent mesh faces from Rhino.
  • Sketchup curves are polylines. The exporter now has a Max Angle value to control the curve tessellating in Sketchup. This is used to control how detailed Rhino curves are represented in Sketchup.
