Skewed / corrupted images after import from PDF

After importing a PDF that looks like this (text above and below, image in the middle):

I get this in Rhino:

The texts above and below are correct, but the image shows skewed content.

Here is another example. This is how it looks in the PDF:

And this is after import in Rhino:

Hi Stefano,

It’s going to be difficult for anyone to investigate this without access to the PDFs that don’t import correctly. Could you post them here please?

And which release of Rhino are you using? Post the output from Rhino’s _SystemInfo command.

This has happened with most of the PDFs I have tested, so I assumed it was a common issue and posted here hoping there might already be a known workaround.

If this is not expected behavior, I can send one of the PDFs privately to support, but I cannot post it publicly because the files are confidential.

Here is SystemInfo:

Hi @Stefano_Menci,
We identified that the PDF was produced by iTextpdf 5/27/2025.
Is this correct? Were you writing the PDF from the ThinkDesign product?

Also we logged a private YT: RH-96438/PDF-Import-Issue
Since AutoCAD is failing too, it may be a defect in the way the PDF was written.
We have asked our developers to look at the issue.

You will be notified here if/when there is a fix to test.
Thanks for letting us know about the issue.

Sincerely,
Mary Ann Fugier

Hi MaryAnn,

Thank you for looking into this.

I don’t know how the file was created, we received from a client.

I’ve replied to the support, attaching another file from another client wiht the same problem.

One workaround is to reprint the file, for example using Microsoft PDF.

The problem is that the quality of both geometries and pictures will degrade a little more, as usual when going through PDF.
