Since the update last month, I have been having a problem with _reducemesh creating OPEN meshes from CLOSED meshes. I have been working on a 3D print project, and I’m generating meshes with ~1.2m polygons using the Mesh command. This produces a closed mesh with no naked edges or non-manifold edges. Then I use reducemesh in planar mode to prevent it from flattening out my round surfaces. Now I’m having to take my reduced meshes into my slicer to try to repair them, which doesn’t always work. Before the latest update, I had ZERO problems using reducemesh to producing clean, closed meshes, and since then, it has mostly managed to convert my closed meshes into open meshes with naked edges. What has changed?
Hi Keith -
Please post a 3dm file that we can test.
