Simulate water filling tanks successively

Hi
I’m looking to simulate water filling a grid of tanks successively.
Does anybody have any ideas on how best to approach this?

Many thanks

Hi Rahaf,
Simulate what aspect?
Is this about planar levels and volumes, or flow/turbulence?

Hi Daniel,

Both I believe - I would like to start by simulating horizontal and vertical movement (tidal flow).
I hope to then use the model as a base for representing varying water quality parameters.

I think you’re going to need to come up with a clearer description of what you want to learn from the simulation. It could be something that can be approached simply with booleans of volumes and planes of different heights, possibly in an iterative loop, possibly not, or you might need actual CFD, with a volumetric mesh, which is a lot more complex.

Maybe this will help.

Actually this discussion might be closer:

I don’t think a particle based approach is likely to be so useful if the question is about volumes
