I just updated to the latest build available (Version 8 WIP (8.0.23186.12306, 2023-07-05)), and immediately noticed an issue with the sidebars.
My normal UI setup has a right sidebar with 3 panels (commands, properties, layers), and no left sidebar. After updating, 2/3 of my sidebar panels (commands and properties) are no longer visible, they just show as a solid gray area. They are still there - if I start typing a command, the dropdown list of suggested commands will show up, and if I hover my mouse over the blank properties panel, my cursor will change in certain spots as if I’m mousing over a button, I just can’t see it.
I was having other issues with my UI in the last build (Toolbar and which layer tabs are visible resets after every app launch - #5 by ㅂ11) such as a redundant toolbar that kept showing up after every app launch, and the update to this new version did not fix that issue, so I tried a few things:
First, I used the Reset command to set the UI back to defaults, but it did not solve the old toolbar issue or the new sidebar visibility issue. Then, I tried the factory reset option within the Reset command, which also did not solve either issue. Finally, I decided to fully delete the app (and the plist) and reinstall. This fixed the toolbar issue, but my sidebar panels are still invisible.
I tried messing around with the UI a little bit to see what would happen if I placed them elsewhere. Here’s what I noticed:
If I place one single panel in either sidebar, it works.
If I add more than one panel into the same sidebar (such as Command panel + Properties panel), the bottom one will be visible, and the top one(s) will not. Which panel is in which position doesn’t seem to matter, just the position.
If I leave the panels floating, not in a sidebar, they work.
This issue makes my normal UI setup completely unusable, and I’m not sure if it’s possible to downgrade to a previous build, so I guess I will have to leave them floating for now
