Shortcut Editor Isn't Registering Keystrokes

I’m running Version 8 (8.14.24345.15002, 2024-12-10).

I am trying to create new keyboard shortcuts. In the ‘Press a key or key combination’ dialog, keypresses are not registered. I tried quitting and restarting with no luck, either with an external keyboard or the keyboard on my laptop.

Hi David -
Please run the Rhino SystemInfo command and copy-paste the output here.
-wim

If you click the dialog first, does it work? It shouldn’t require this, but I could see focus potentially being an issue

Clicking the dialog 100% worked. Thank you

Apologies @David_Lloyd, this is fixed in 8.15, ticket was here RH-84730 Keyboard Shortcuts: Dialog needs focus

RH-84730 is fixed in Rhino 8 Service Release 15

Urgent !

I have the same problem !
Just lost my favorite shortcut, while trying to edit it

First i clicked “new” - then typed the new shortcut in the dialogue - and “apply” - and typed in the new macro in the list. But it does not register.

Then I tried edit it back to the original shortcut, but that does not register either.
So now none of them are registered, and I have to type the command in command line.

This really sucks, because I use this constantly, and I cant get the shortcut back without resetting everything, which means all my other custom macros !!

  • and that is not an option at all…

Thanks

What is the shortcut? Can you show a screenshot or video of the issue?

You cant hear it, but when i press F12, i get the “ploink” sound - as in: "forget about it "

And trust me, I have tried restarting Rhino etc. all ready.

Btw - wouldnt it be nice, if there was an “apply” button at the bottom of the list, next to the “delete” button ? It leaves you kinda hangin there, after having typed in the command… is it saved ? is it not ?.. perhaps we´ll never know

Thanks for reporting this. I can reproduce this, I’ve logged a ticket here so I can look into fixing it, and you can review the ticket to see the current status
