Hi guys, some time ago there was a tutorial on YT (on the Rhino channel) about making the shaded display mode similar to Alias, where the object are shiny and reflective (image for reference) so you can evaluate surface quality directly. I can not find that tutorial anymore…does anybody know where to find that tutorial or something similar? big thanks
all you need to do is make an environment image with the colors you want to use.
similar to the image below -
assign it to the environment channel of a material or the image slot of an environment
if you want to create a shading mode-
copy the shaded view
then set it to use custom material for all object and then customize that material.
add your image to the environment slot and adjust the intensity to control the effect.
may also want to check out this thread-
thanks
thanks for the info
google “matcap png” images for resource reflection maps that you can apply via environment maps.
thanks!!!
Just to keep track of this: I’ve found a GitHub repository of magical environment maps:
wow, thanks
