Shell Cross-Section

unhandled

(Mathieu Côté) #1

Hi, I noticed that when disassembling a model composed of a shell element, there is one more cross-section than there are elements. For example, in the file linked, the Disassemble Model component displays 200 triangles, yet the number of cross-section is 201 in the Disassemble Cross-Section component. Can you explain this behaviour?

Thank you,

Mathieu

Dear Mathieu,
the initial cross section of the shell acts as the default cross section and gets attached to the list of new cross sections created by the cross section optimizer. See this definition: Shell Analysis_cp.gh (38.9 KB).
