For those of you who want to use a shaded display mode with gentle shadows and highlights:

I also made 4 new car paint display modes.

The last two ones, “Car paint 7” and “Car paint 8”, are especially good for general modeling of objects with vertical walls and simple items due to the extended highlight that covers both, the upper and lower areas of the geometry. Their materials resemble shiny and matte bronze paint.

On the other hand, “Car paint 5” and “Car paint 6” are optimized for use with models such like car bodies due to the much smaller upper highlight.

“Car paint 5” is almost the same as “Car paint 6”, except that the former has hidden crease lines, curves, points and the surface border is a lighter shade of gray. “Car paint 5” is mostly useful for a review of the geometry, whereas “Car paint 6” is better for modeling purposes.

NOTE: “Car paint 5” will typically take a few extra seconds to run for the first time, because it needs some time to calculate which surfaces are joined successfully, in order to hide their seams.
