The problem I’m having is that the appearance on my website is different than on the shapediver website. On my website I’m getting some glare and the lighting seems to be different. How do I ensure that the model on my website inherits all appearance settings from the model? Below are images of the model first on the shapediver website, second on my site.
Your website is embedding the version 2 of the ShapeDiver viewer, for which we no longer provide support or updates since 2 years. When was your configurator implemented? I suggest one of two ways to solve the issue:
Your developer could have a look at the migration guide from version 2 to version 3 here. In your case, the code update should be minimal.
You could simply switch to using the App Builder and embed an App directly in your website instead of writing custom code. Find a video tutorial to get started here.
