ShapeDiver does work in both Rhino 7 and Rhino 8 so the dot net compatibility shouldn’t be an issue.
I’m sure it would be helpful to all if you run the systeminfo command in your Rhino 8 and post the results, as well as the exact version of ShapeDiver and Revit. Thanks!
Most likely, there is an incompatibility with another plugin, or rather with the dependencies of another plugin. The ShapeDiver plugin depends on a few DLLs of the AWS SDK, and this seems to be the issue in this specific case (see line 4 of the error message: `Amazon.Util.EC2InstanceMetadata…`).
If you have time, it would be great to know whether you can get the ShapeDiver plugin to work in RIR when you disable other plugins.
Note: We intend to remove the ShapeDiver plugin’s dependency on the AWS SDK in Q3 2026.
