Shading comparison help

shading copy.gh (51.4 KB) Hi everyone,

I’m working on a Grasshopper + Ladybug project to compare different shading devices (vertical fins, horizontal overhangs, and louvers).

I’m having trouble building the shading geometry correctly. The fins/louvers/overhangs either generate incorrectly or don’t form proper geometry, so I can’t run the Ladybug radiation/daylight analysis.

Could someone help me identify what’s wrong with my Grasshopper definition or suggest a better workflow for creating these parametric shading devices?

I’ve attached my Grasshopper file.

Thanks in advance!

shading copy1.gh (55.3 KB)Hi,

I reviewed your file and found several issues. I corrected them, and it is now ready for analysis.

It is also possible to create a more optimized and concise version of the workflow. I recommend upgrading your Ladybug Tools installation to version 1.5 or later, as this will provide better compatibility and enable improved workflows.

Thank you so much! This works perfectly. Your definition is much cleaner than mine, and I really appreciate you taking the time to help. This will help me continue with my shading analysis. Thanks again!
