It seems like a given but apparently it’s not a thing? Not without a script at least?

For rhino 7 GH, you can try Elefront and I believe MetaHopper might also have some of that functionality. Check food4rhino as there might be other options in the Grasshopper category.

You should be able to do this with Rhino8.
