I want to use the command SetObjectDisplayMode however the list refers to the default list and non of my customised settings. Anyone able to help?

For a display mode to be on that list, the [ ... > _your_display_mode_ ] > Other Settings > User Interface Options > Allow assignment to individual objects
option needs to be enabled.
Display modes that are derived from one of the technical display modes don’t have such option and will not appear in that list.

Thanks for helping on this one.
I followed your instruction and that appears to work when I right click on the viewport and change the rendering type however lets say I have three spheres in wireframe mode and I want one to be shaded in my own setting the function only lists the defaults. Im it used to have my own.
