Set Default Template File using python?

Is there any way to set a default template file for startup using python?
I am getting tired of setting up peoples basic options when they start at our office.
Or we get new hardware…
I am making a small script that sets up the colors and some other default options using rs.Comand(). But I am not seeing the ability to set up default template at launch.
If above it possible is there a way to add files outside of the installation of the compiled plugin?
So that way I can put the template rhino file into default templates folder to keep things clean?
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\McNeel\Rhinoceros\6.0\Localization\en-US\Template Files

If not I think the location of the default template folder can be pointed to somewhere else. If that is the case is it a bad Idea to change it to be inside of plugin folder?

Hi @mikhail, yes use rs.TemplateFile(filename)

You can add files to %appdata%, this is where the default templates are located:

C:\Users\UserNaneAppData\Roaming\McNeel\Rhinoceros\5.0\Localization\en-US\Template Files

does this help ?

@clement,
Thanks, I’ll give that a try.
