I am working on a bending active prototype with a mesh in between. I found an old example from Anders Deleuran about his workshop back in 2016 at the RDA.. I want to bend a polyline while being constrained by a tensioned steel cable in-between that.
So far I get it, how to use the Rod component, but when it comes to setting a constrain on the amount of bending till the energy is at its minimum and the solver found an equilibrium, I am a little stuck.
As the screenshot shows I am having my rectangular shape on the left with the linear cable in between. But when it converges it just forms a circle and ignores my Anchor points, the ConstantTension node. I also tried out the PointOnCurve, and others more but I cant wrap my head around that.
What is stopping my simple geometry from obeying the anchor points, stiffness and tension forces of my line?
