I see there’s more information from you in an earlier thread but that one ended with an unanswered question that @brian asked you:

-wim

Absolutly, always have busy dialog box then after couple minutes Fetching license box.
It 's also an issue when I try to open R6 and R7 in same session.Or two of R6 session.

Thx

Thanks. I’m just trying to narrow things down a bit… I assume that you are connected to the internet at all times. Could you close all Rhino sessions, disconnect from the internet and then launch Rhino? Does the same thing happen?
-wim

I’ll try it next, but you have to know that I have R6 and R7wip installed on my desktop at office and also
on my portable computer.I do not use both computer and license at the same time, I’m a single user.Maybe this has a relation with the busy dialog box issue.

Did disconnect from internet, R6 start perfectly but R7 ask for license in zoo

Then 2nd box ask for loggin(R7) but seems I’m already logged.

Thanks for that additional information.
We’ll need @aj1 and/or @brian to take a look at this.
-wim

Thanks a lot

Any help would be appreciated , I can’t even start R7 wip

Hi Filipe -

Since you are able to post the SystemInfo data, I presume that you are able to get Rhino to run.
Could you describe what happens from when you reboot and then launch Rhino?
-wim

Hello @wim, I have to keep on clicking on the Repeat and Change to… buttons until the message is dismissed and rhino finishes loading.

Rhino_Message

That’s usually caused by another Rhino instance being busy working, though it has to be pretty seriously hammering at something. Maybe it could be caused by something else tying up the CPU, what else are you running at the same time?

While that may be your experience, I have never had this happen this for that reason, but frequently get it on one particular machine when starting Rhino as the first program opened after boot up (by which time, of course, Windows has thousands of processes running, so good luck listing those!). This has been happening for years. By contrast my other machine never does this. Same editions of Rhino, same Windows, different graphics. The machine that does do it will have had the then current Maxwell plugin installed and that is the most obvious difference.

I’ve never bothered uninstalling Maxwell, because the problem is intermittent and the hassle of clicking the dialog box repeatedly is less than the hassle of doing without Maxwell long enough to determine that it was the cause (and I have no great confidence that it is). But for @Filipe_Brandao and others, if the problem is sufficiently irritating, then I’d start by disabling all non-Rhino plugins for a while, to see if the problem arises in one of them. If so, re-enable them one at a time until the problem reappears, indicating the problem plugin.

HTH
Jeremy

Yes, that’s what I was thinking too. May be some plug-in is trying to find its license or some other support file but not succeeding in time…

This machine does indeed have lots of things going on. But even if I restart the system it still pops up. So it is not caused by another instance of Rhino running. In my case, the plugin diagnosis might be the cause, I will give it a try.

In any case, last week one of my students had this issue immediately after a rhino fresh install. This student never had Rhino installed previously and the message refused to go away either clicking change to... or Repeat. I assumed the issue was the same I have, but it might not be the case. I will ask the student to submit a report here if her problem persists.

Hi Filipe,

FWIW I have always found that repeated clicking of the Repeat button will eventually lead to a resolution. Eventually, of course, may be longer than one can tolerate… A pleasanter approach is to go and get a coffee and on return perhaps find that a single press is all it takes.

Regards
Jeremy
