SelChain doesn't respect selection filter

i have some duplicated edges on a surface, explode, ran SelChain, set curve only selection filter and it is letting me select surface edges.

it should respect the filter shouldn’t it?

technically, a surface edge is interpreted as a curve in several tools. You’d have to use the pick sorter to determine which is which.
