SelBrush tool bug

When using SelBrush, if you turn on Realtime and drag, the vertices, edges, and faces of the SubD object at the first click point will only be selected in an area the size of the brush, and will not be selected no matter how much you move them. Continue drawing more SelBrush. Also, if you drag while holding down the control key, the selected part should be deselected, but otherwise, many errors are observed, such as the viewport turning black. Regular surface objects can be selected continuously by dragging them with the same live selection with control points turned on, but they do not deselect when you hold down the control and drag.
Additionally, in the video, dragging in the air over an object or control point is an attempt to deselect a selected object using the Ctrl key + drag, but it does not deselect.
The video currently tested and captured is Rhino 7, and the same phenomenon is observed in Rhino 8 Beta.

Hello- I see this, thanks.
RH-77514 SelBrush, RealTimeSelection, and Subobjects

-Pascal

Thanks for checking first.

If you read the text carefully, in addition to the issues reported, there is one more question I had.
On a plane surface, contrary to SubD&Mesh, points can be clicked continuously well, but when Ctrl+drag, points must be released continuously, but they do not respond.
to sum it up

-SubD & Mesh-

  1. The selection only starts at the beginning and does not work beyond that.
  2. Conversely, when you use Ctrl+Drag, it can be released easily.

-Surface-

  1. The selection is very good in succession.
  2. Ctrl+Drag does not work.

One tool can have multiple problems depending on its object properties.

If the SelBrush ctrl+drag real-time selection mode doesn’t work, you’ll also encounter peak CPU usage issues. Also check the commands just above this comment. The version is Rhino 8 evaluation version. Additionally, most bugs from version 6, such as vertical polylines, have not been fixed at all. There are many bugs that have a huge impact on the work, but they have not yet been fixed. I can’t help but doubt the developers’ abilities and I see no reason to upgrade from 7 to 8. Furthermore, I’m starting to question whether I should continue to use Rhino itself.
Even when I used Rhino 7, there were too many bugs and it became a huge obstacle to work, so there were many cases where I had to use Rhino 5 except when using the SubD tool. I don’t understand why they force you to use the old version after purchasing the new version.
