Section tool improvement

I’m collecting here my suggestion to improve the section tools for mechanical drawings.

  • have only the main layer locked and leave the other unlocked
  • Radius/Diameter, Crv Length to work with the section drawing also when layer is locked. (RH-85127)
  • default option with ShowHatch=Yes ShowSolid=Yes AddBackground=Yes
  • Placement point seam buggy whne you select multiple sections togheter

To clarify:

  • You would like only main layer locked, so you can more easily unlock the sublayers?
  • I ran an example, and it appears to me that Radius/Diameter works with drawings in locked layers. Can you elaborate?
  • These options are not the default because it takes time to create the hatch/solid and background, but they is sticky options, so once you set them, they stick.
  • I’ll need an example for the placement point issue.

Thanks for taking time to this.

Yes that’s my idea.

I got this issue before Christmas, it maybe be solved, I saw a bug fix similar to this in the last version.
I’ll check it when I’ll be back to the office and I will answer the other two point with example.
