how is this not a mess?
boundary width in scale factors
print width in real units.
intersectiom, hidden lines, silhouettes by display mode which is in pixels?
how is this consistent or good or useful?
It would also be super handy if Section Style controls had parity with Hatch Properties and allowed for setting Pattern Print Width. Currently, the option sets are nearly identical with this one crucial, somewhat bewildering, difference.
100% parity is in the works as we speak. Hopefully within the next few WIP releases we’ll be there.
@ivan.galik there’s work to do for sure and we’re intent on streamlining it for a better v9 experience.
ok i just want to know if you acknowledge that this is not ok and working on it
Yes, we’re with ya.
Hey Guys,
Any movement on section style pattern print width? On a related note - if this could be controlled globally in someway, that would be very welcome. Thanks!!
Yes, we’re making good progress towards it. We’ve implemented separate controls over the pattern print width and boundary print width for the hatch objects and now just need to implement the same onto the section hatches. This is slated to be ready for v9 and is on our short list. We’re close.
Please start testing the hatch implementations and reporting anything you find.
You can track the section ticket directly from the link below.
That’s great to hear, thanks for the update. I’ll be sure to report back on any issues with the currently available controls.
Lineweights in general are a total mess in 8 please don’t go down that same path.
hidden lines printiwidth visible lines silhouettes sectiones lines (technical display mode). these should play well coherently and consistently with section style settings and layer settings…
Agreed, we’ve had some internal discussions about how to untangle this issue. One possibility might be to move some of the display scaling values out of the style itself and directly into the display mode similar to how other objects like curves and breps do.
