Hello, I am a Grasshopper newbie and I want to import geometry from Fusion into Grasshopper and emboss a pattern on it. So far the best import method I found was exporting a step file from Fusion and importing it into Rhino and setting it as Brep in Grasshopper. The methods I came across youtube mostly showed how to surface morph onto a surface with edges.

This is the Brep I imported:

this is the pattern:

and the files:

[01.gh](https://discourse.mcneel.com/uploads/short-url/xLJQrRrV8PMD4SbHfGeJlHCipN9.gh) (7.5 KB)

[04.step](https://discourse.mcneel.com/uploads/short-url/tg00gv7oUXIAcg68euIv0l8r0xZ.step) (33.5 KB)

What would be the best way to make this?

If what you want to do looks like this:

 ![1](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/mcneel/uploads/default/original/4X/5/7/a/57af89345bb807dbc0f838133cb0502fc9c0944e.jpeg)

The way I did it was to first make the smooth shape and separately make a planar rectangular array of the shape to apply to the outside surface. Then use the GH SrfMorph component to map the array on to your base geometry.

Not that you have to ensure the top and bottom edges of the rectangular array have to fit together properly. If they don’t there will be a visible vertical seam after the SrfMorph is done.

Flow along surface command gives me a seamless pattern but surface morph node doesn’t for some reason.

So far I’m at this point using Paneling Tools:

It does create a seamless pattern the only problem now is the middle section I put in a green circle.

Does anyone know why this might be?

Thank you very much but it’s giving me data conversion failed from point to curve.

edit: Sorry I used the wrong node (Curve Align Curve Seams instead of Align Curve Seams) I changed it and it worked now, thank you very much again.
