Scroll wheel zoom stopped working — Rhino 8 on macOS Tahoe 26.3

Scroll wheel zoom stopped working in all viewports (Top, Front, Right, and Perspective). The issue also affects trackpad pinch-to-zoom. This happens in every file, not just one specific file.

The problem started a few months ago when I was adjusting mouse settings to fix the sticky zoom issue (where zoom slows down when getting close to an object). After changing settings, scroll zoom stopped working entirely.

Scroll wheel input is being received — when “Use scroll wheel to pan or rotate views” is checked, scrolling does pan the view. But with it unchecked (default), scrolling does nothing. The Zoom command works fine from the command line.

What I’ve tried so far with no fix:

  • Unchecked “Use scroll wheel / scroll ball to pan or rotate views”

  • Unchecked “Swap pan and zoom”

  • Reset Zoom Scale factor to 1.00

  • Toggled Zoom Reverse

  • Ran defaults delete com.mcneel.rhinoceros in Terminal

  • Updated Rhino to the latest build

  • Toggled macOS natural scrolling

  • Checked macOS Accessibility zoom settings (all off)

  • Using a Logitech mouse, but trackpad zoom is also broken so it’s not a mouse software issue

Hi Josephine -
Please try the Reset command in Rhino to revert to the factory defaults.
