Hi guys, how is it with upgrading a school LAB license to v7 if they still need to use v6?
Is the cloud zoo smart enough to let this happen automatically, or do they need to keep one LAB license un-upgraded?
Yes, the cloud zoo will take care of this, they will still have the same number of licenses, but after the upgrade they can use either V6 or V7 - up to 30 simultaneous users in any combination V6/V7.
Perfect, thanks for the fast reply Mitch!
One more thing @Helvetosaur, do you recommend schools to use a local Zoo or the CloudZoo for students to get their licenses?
Cloud Zoo definitely if the students/staff will work at home w/laptops - or anywhere outside of the school network actually.
The Cloud Zoo is also good for managing things like department chair installations where doctoral students and staff might need licenses, but the team changes frequently - Cloud Zoo offers much better access control via Teams.
LAN Zoo if it’s just for an internal computer lab where the computers are fixed machines - it’s a bit easier to manage maybe.
Thanks, great to hear that it works as well in real life as in theory!
Hi @Helvetosaur ,
Is it as easy as adding the email of the students to the team and send them the invite?
(The students don’t need to make a Rhino account as well, do they?)
PS! I just changed category so I can send the link of the discussion to the school.
Yes, they do need to make a Rhino account - the invite mail they receive explains how.
