I’m using the scatter tool but I can’t see the grass, which density map do I use to increase the density? I have several types of grass I am using that I downloaded from chaos cosmos. Thanks
I have no option to edit density and as you can see, you can’t even see the grass geometric reps the red surface - where they’re meant to be.
hey, I really need help please. I can see a few bounding boxes, spread out by quite some distance, but I need them to be much much closer, almost over lapping.
Hi -
You might need to post this on in official Chaos support forum…

I have a trial and they wont let me post
It depends what you need - if you want an uncompromised scattering solution I’d recommend going with RN (bit odd to propose own soft).
However here’s setup that just works out of the box:

Here also you can just type in:
However if your surface is huge and you have single models you will have to put tons of those, for bigger areas its recomended usually to use bigger patches of grass like for eg. 1m in diameter patch or at least 50cm diameter.
perfect, thanks!
btw, do you know how I can get the scatter on the angled surfaces - I stopped this at the beginning of the render, and as you can see there is nothing on the curves.
With V-Ray thing I don’t have a clue, in RN it’s out of the box as it should (unless normals are flipped for those faces then objects are on the other side of face).
It’s not just angled surfaces, it’s actually just not covering all of the surfaces - and even with fur, it’s the same - it applies it to the same areas as the scatter, which is about 60% of the surface. I did get the scatter to cover it all but I can’t remember what I did.
Seems something is off with those srfs, so not much can be done without a file with those srfs.
