Is there a way of scaling a clipping sections text in a detail view? I can see scaling the entire section will increase or reduce the text appearance but cannot find a way to manually change! Feeling a little stumped.

Other than scaling the clipping plane object, that is not currently possible, no.
We have that issue on our list as RH-77206 Assign clipping plane label to Section style
