Scaling an object

In a moment you will see that I am new to Rhino.

I am trying to scale the object in the attached image so that it is 2mm larger around the perimeter. Once scaled, I would then like to Make a Hole using the object that is 5mm deep. I am not having any issues with MakeHole command.

The end goal is to 3D print or CNC the part to create a mold for pouring liquid silicone rubber into a cavity that is 2mm larger than the object shown.

When using the scale command, I cannot achieve the desired results.

Would the correct method be changing the width of the polyline, rather than scaling?

I think you’re looking for the _Offset command here…
