I also checked gamma’s of both files they are the same.
This happened while I was working on a project in the development phase, so I kept having revisions and changes to the model and I had to do the same rendering with updated designs for the client. Suddenly, my reflections disappeared from the material.
I ended up digging up an archived version of my project file and copied the latest design there, which gave me what I needed: the correct reflections. It was a temporary fix for me.
Is this a bug? What should I do to get reflections back on my most recent file?
here are 2 files with same exact models, lighting, environment, and materials applied. If you simply go to raytraced view in both files when you open them, you will see the differences in renderings.
rhino render is very unreliable maybe even more so in raytraced display mode like here. it often and repeatedly forgets to render a pass, mostly reflections or some noise bump settings like octaves etc that get rendered differently within the same sessions. also bump is pretty dead for a while now generally. for the rest like here sometimes it helps switching to rendered mode then back to raytraced or turning on and off some lights.
