I’ve been using Rhino 6, on my university’s license, on my old MacBook Pro without too many issues, until I start trying out rendering tools or running large grasshopper scripts. Recently purchased a new M1 IMac with pretty much the highest spec available, as my partner is a video editor. I assumed it would be suitable for rhino but have read some concerning treads on here! Please can anyone advise if these issues are now ironed out, as I’ve not seen anything posted in the last 6 months. My university can’t let me use Rhino 7 at home with their license, and I’m prepared to buy it, but not if it’s going to be a nightmare…
BTW I already used a rhino 7 trial before the university offered me their license for v6 so not sure if a free trial is an option either.
The issues are not completely ironed out, no, and won’t be in V7. All work for this in active development for V8, which has no set release date.

Exporting a rendering to file will not work. Rhino freezes every time I tried it so I gave up. I purchased a M1 several months ago thinking V7 runs native on Monterey (OS 12) but it doesn’t. It runs through Rosetta, which was a bummer but I’m not too disappointed. You can always screen capture your rendering to side step that issue but the screen capture only looks crisp if you have a 5K monitor. I have an apple 4K Thunderbolt Display and the screen capture looks slightly pixelated.
