@Gwyl_Jahn I’m seeing this same behavior in the latest Runchat plugin, and the same fix applies-
have to delete the folders for the older versions
Thanks Kyle - this was happening on my machine and presumed it was from local dev. Will investigate!
If anyone else sees this and has the same issue, here is how to crush it.
1 - Delete all Runchat plugin folders for all installed versions of Rhino from %AppData%\McNeel\Rhinoceros\packages
2 - Open Rhino and run PluginManager. Check to make sure Runchat isn’t listed there. If it is, you have the fun task of needing to remove it from the registry. Copy the registry path like this:
Then open Regedit and paste the key into the address bar:
Then, delete the folder with that specific GUID. Be careful, don’t delete anything else. No other folders. No parent folders. Just the one in Plugins / [GUID]. Restart Rhino.
3 - Reinstall Runchat from the package manager.
PS - this will work for any plugin with the ID already in use error.
Actually - another reason for this issue is potentially just that the old plugin is open when Rhino starts and so it can’t load the new one. If this is the case you can fix it just by making sure the Runchat plugin window is floating, then close it and restart Rhino.
