Round displayed ends of curves

Hi,
I would like to make a Layout in Rhino.
I´m trying all the time to make the ends of the curves round. Now all the curves are displayed very edgy in contrast to the lines of measurements. Is it possible at all?

A further question – Is it possible to save the layout with a transparent background like a PNG with an alphachannel?

have you tried joining the curves?

Yes, it doesn´t work. I´m not pretty sure, but I thought, it would have worked once.
