Rotation based on another geometry rotation

Acceleration is a desirable feature where it helps overcome latch friction to fully close the door.

But it would bind or ‘whip’ - maybe getting the angle just right balances all that out?

There is actually a lot of adjustment available on these closers with different valves to control speed during different phases of the closing cycle (the closers are hydraulically damped).

If you are interested in how they work, there is a good exposition at Commercial Door Closers | www.doorclosersusa.com

What have you got? I tried a few methods but failed, so I cheated:bangbang:

Seems to me that I did something like this before

Happy New Year

I put the cart before the horse.

I ordered some ball bearings because there are no marbles in this house.

I thought 3/4” diameter would be a good size.

Then I made the raceway on which they would roll.

While waiting for the ball bearings I realize the raceway was going to be too small. So I made it a bit larger.

I haven’t printed it yet.

Heer’s what happens with what I’ve got now:

I was correct about needing a larger raceway. I think I’m going to make it even a bit larger.
