Hello. Can i rotate the level cplanes created by visualarq? I found some old threads but i don’t understand the procedure. Using rhino cplanes commands doesn’t seem to save the orientation in level cplanes.

Hi @ar00302,

VisualARQ levels will always be horizontal, why do you need to rotate them?

In case you need to save different CPlanes, maybe you can use the “Named CPlanes” Rhino panel:

 ![image](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/mcneel/uploads/default/original/4X/6/5/7/65741102c00e35128176d3300a40bd7c41d17d6e.png)

</div>

I want to stay horizontal with the building not with the world cplane.
The building is not parallel to the world cplane.
For each building i create i want to orient the level cplanes in a way that it will be parallel to one side of the building.

 ![image](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/mcneel/uploads/default/original/4X/5/0/6/506c5721adf39fe022eb840c18c7811c589bf881.png)
I want when i create a view , lets say top-floor1 to be parallel with the front view of my building.
If i create a second building i want a different orientation.
As i am able to set an elevation for each new building, isn’t logical to set an origin and a rotation to the true north?
If i create a named cplane, this will not be assigned with va top-floor1.

Hi @ar00302,

Yes, you are right. I complete agree with you. I have already requested this feature so I will let you know when it is implemented.

It sound very simple to implement, and very crucial to start a new study.
Please hurry up on this.

Thank you.

In any case, if you have only one building or all the building have got the same orientation, I see you can rotate the CPlane and this rotation will be saved in all levels:

I use visualarq 3 beta. Is this a bug? I cannot do that?

If you just want to make print layout, you can define a CPlane (the named one is the best option) aligned to your design, then get its plan view, then save it as a named view, and finally set this view within your detail. With rotated space tags should work perfectly.
Cheers, Jaro
edit: I still call CPlanes as UCS…

Hi @ar00302,

I am testing it using the VisualARQ 3 beta version and it is working fine in my case… How are you reproducing the error? Maybe we are doing it in different ways…

As you can see i am also able to modify the cplane, but when i execute set floor plan the angle change.
As i wrote its extremely simple.
Every building should have an elevation (it has) **an origin and a rotation**.

As you can see in my video after set floor plan, it hold the origin but reset the rotation to World Top.

A VA view has a lot of things setup. I don’t want to manual make views.

Hi @ar00302,

I see the problem. It happens only clicking in “Set floor/ceiling plan”. I’ll report it to find a solution.

Please add this in the software. Its very simple math’s:

Every building should have an elevation (it has) **an origin and a rotation** to World Top.

Alfonso, I would like the rhino align function to work correctly with the c plane rotated, to align VA objects
