Romer arm usb connection error

Hi,

I’m trying to connect my Romer RA-7315 absolute arm to my computer via USB and use it with Rhino 5.0. The RDS V4.0.0 status window gives the error message:

My system info is:
Windows 7 Professional
Processor: Intel® Core™ i7 CPU M 640 @ 2.80GHz, 2800 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 8.00 GB

Could you help us resolve this issue ?

Thanks,

Alex Brady

@tim - do you have an idea? Do you know if this arm is supported?

@abrady, is this a new problem - has the arm worked in the past?

Seems to me like I had to change the arm model somewhere in the RDS. The thing is I sort of remember is it defaulting to an Absolute (RA) and we were testing with an Infinite. Anyway look at this picture and make sure you have the RA radio button checked (and USB for that matter). Beyond that I think you’ll have to contact Romer. If you can get RDS to work but not Rhino, then get back to us here and we’ll to figure it out.

Tim

Thanks for your quick reply,

The arm works with Rhino on one one of our computers and we are trying to set it up on another one. At this point we’ve determined that there is a driver problem with the Romer Arm. We are trying to re-install RDS and Romosoft to fix the issue, hopefully that will be enough.

Thanks again for taking the time to help even though the problem is not with the Rhino software, we’ll keep you posted if we solve the problem!

Alex
