at first glance In Dark mode it seems that now the icons that are selected instead of Turing blue turns into lighter [inactive look] grey

That’s odd. I’m not seeing that on my machine…
Hrmmm. I wonder how we can figure out what is different on your machine and mine.
maybe because I had this setting in system pref. 
yes that’s it… change to purple for testing just now
actually it’s fun to have the ability to control rhino colours from the global setting.
and yet the grey has the [system wide] calm look which would be nice to keep.
but certainly not a big issue.
