RhinoPolyhedra update available for Rhino WIP

There is a new version of RhinoPolyhedra available in the PackageManager for the Rhino WIP.

New!

  • You can now pan, zoom, and rotate the view in the Polyhedron command’s preview window.
  • New Polyhedral Shapes:
    • Pentagrammic Bipyramid
    • Regular Pentagrammic Pyramid
    • Rhombic Spirallohedron
  • New Space Filling Polyhedra:
    • Cross Space Filler
    • Hemicube
    • Triakis Truncated Tetrahedron (not to be confused with Truncated Triakis Tetrahedron)
  • New Zome command which creates a zonohedron dome.

On Archimedean solids “snub cube” and “snub dodecahedron” and their Catalan duals, respectively, “pentagonal icositetrahedron” and “pentagonal hexecontahedron”.

Can you briefly describe which methods, apporoach and/or formulas were used to create them?

I am fascinated by these polyhedra and have found that they cannot be so easily constructed or numerically defined as other regular an semi-regular polyhedra, and though, they have a very high symmetry. I found a couple of numerical methods and they involve an equation of the 3rd degree. I was wondering if there is a more geometric constructive method.

Thanks in advance and best regards,

Jaime
