FYI:

The license file installs with world write permissions on parent directories on OS X

Is there a reason these directories need to be writable by everyone?

These are directories used only by Rhino. Rhino is installed by all users on a computer and these are directories used to save Rhino information both read and written by all the users.

Only Rhino uses these directories. OS X neither looks at these directories nor saves anything in these directories, so I don’t understand why you consider this a security issue. This does not create any OS X security issue.
