Rhino8.2 - Exporting to PDF results in blank page for rendered details

Hi,

I downloaded the 8.2 update for rhino yesterday and I’m now having issues exporting to PDF.

I use rendered or arctic display modes a lot for my details when I’m drafting and now every time I try and export to a PDF they result in blank pages or only showing the top left corner.

Exporting to PDF with wireframe / shaded mode works fine.

When I go to export the print preview looks as it should too.

I’ve tried shutting it down, restarting my computer, only having 1 detail on a page and nothings working.

Would you be able to provide a model with this problem? I tried reproducing it but it seems to work fine for me.

Also, I’d like to know if you can still see this issue in Rhino 8.3. There’s a chance this was fixed in 8.3.

Hi, sadly it’s still not working for me.

Downloaded the 8.3 update

Realised the problem lies not with the rendered display mode that exports fine with skylight turned on. It’s when I turn the skylight off to have shadows then it doesn’t export the layout to pdf.

I’ve done a basic test model as can’t share what I’m working on at the moment and it still doesn’t work with this basic model:

@natashabw Thanks for the model and the screen shots! I have made some tests:

Rhino 8.2: I can reproduce the bug.
Rhino 8.3: I can reproduce the bug.
Rhino 8.4: The bug seems to have been fixed in this version.

If I’ve understood things correctly, I believe Rhino 8.4 will be available as a Release Candidate in about 7 days. Test it out then and let me know if you see the same as I do.

Hi,

Im still getting this bug on details that are set to rendered. I am currently using Rhino 8.7 for mac. I tried both print to rhino PDF and Export. Both seem to bring up the same options box. I also tried printing it and it came out as wire framed instead of rendered.

Hi,

After working for a while the bug is back!

Can’t export to pdf in rendered mode with skylight off.

Downloaded the most recent update, but not working.

Exactly the same problem as before, attached the test model again.

Any help would be appreciated thank you!

It’s also not working in view capture to file either, it exports a section of the top left and not the rest of the image

This should all be working in the latest build of the day (BOTD) on Windows. I’m still looking into why some scenarios don’t work on the Mac.

Is there a solution to this issue yet?
I’ve downloaded the latest update and now any rendered or arctic view won’t export to PDF even with skylight turned on which is really frustrating!

Please help! I have deadlines coming up and need to be able to export pdfs easily.

I’m seeing this in a current version of Rhino 8.12 but it looks like this is fixed in Rhino 8.13. I’ll send you a link so you can try that out.

Correct… This was fixed a little over a week ago in 8.x (8.13).
