Rhino7 Mac _ Autosave Location, and version history

Hello,

I recently had a situation where I created a new [Rhino 7] file and worked on it intermittently for a couple of weeks, without ever saving it… poor hygiene, I know… but I have become very used to Rhino auto-saving the file for me, albeit only if I ever saved it myself in the first place..

in any case, after that happening, I tried my best to try and find where this file could have gone to - and I looked everywhere, as I had assumed that it must have had some kind of autosave file somewhere - but I never found it - I have since started again and built everything back up, and have saved it properly this time..

but what I would like to know is:

1. Is there a location where that file I lost should have been kept? I looked in the User> Library>Autosave Information, but did not see it there. - I also looked under Library> Applications Support > McNeel, but could not find anything there either.

2. Is there a place where the versions of the current file I am working on are being stored? And if so - is there a way in Rhino to change that to a new folder [I would like to put on my desktop]?

I know that it is possible to view the version history by going File> Revert to > Version History - but I am specifically trying to find where the versions are stored on my computer.

Thanks and look forward to any help with the above,

Andrew

Hi Andrew -

By default, Rhino uses the macOS versioning system and not something that we write ourselves as we do on Windows. As such, this is a more general macOS question…
