Hi there, I have been trying to subtract a planar-closed CURVE from a SLAB through a SLAB SUBTRACT BOUNDARY. I’ve only managed to get two identical slabs (like the one I have subtracted from). Same effect if I try to bake it. Are there some settings I should know ? I have took a look to a similar topic dating Jan’22 but it doesn’t seem to be a thickness bug.
I have just tested it and it looks like there is a problem so I am reporting it. However, what I get as an output in my file is the original slab without the subtraction but I don’t get two slabs. Please, could you send me your file just in case it is a different error?
Hi Alfonso, sure I will send the definition right now.
I have mentioned two slabs because if I bake the whole definition then I will be able to select two slabs in the Rhino model space (I thought I could count two object in Gh too, whether clicking the component slab or the component slab subtract boundary).
Thanks
Ok, I get the same result with your Grasshopper definition: the original slab without the subtraction performed.
If you define one boundary curve for the slab you will have just one slab. After baking the “Slab Subtract Boundary” component you should get that same slab with the boundary subtracted but it should be just one slab again.
I have supposed it was the algorithm’s unfinished boolean.
Nevermind, I should learn a bit more about. Please let me know whenever an upgrade comes out, as I still have some weeks left testing your trial application.
Thank you Alfonso. My Rhyno trial licence is actually expired but I am considering to buy it soon. I look forward to keep discovering its interoperability with VisualARQ too.
