Rhino won't launch unless I run it as an administrator

Hey guys, if I double click on the program on try to open it in safe mode there is no response. There is nothing running in the background on task manager either. The only way to launch the program is to ‘Run as administrator’. Is there a way of fixing this?

Hello- please run the program as admin and run the SystemInfo command, then copy and paste the results here.

Hello- that all looks reasonable - the GPU drivers are old, and I would update those from the Intel and NVidia websites, but I don’t think that is involved here.

Are you launching Rhino from a desktop icon or the Start menu, or?

-Pascal

I’ve tried both, desktop icon and start menu.

Try this, just a test:
on the desktop icon right-click and choose Properties and in there change this:

( “C:\Program Files\Rhino 7\System\Rhino.exe” /NoSplash )

Then try to launch from that icon - Does that make any difference?

-Pascal

Unfortunately no change

If you have not, please go to Add or Remove Programs, in Windows, find Rhino and ‘Modify’… it looks different in Windows 10 but 11 is like this:

Choose ‘Repair’ from the ensuing spash screen from the installer.

-Pascal

Sadly no luck. I restarted my computer and still the same issue.

Hi @nolankim,

Just curious, do you have any Citrix software installed?

– Dale

@dale I don’t believe so. What’s the best way to check?
