Rhino WIP Feature: Project Clipping Drawings in Place

You can now project sections and elevations on the clipping-plane in their true 3D location.

What are Clipping Drawings?
Clipping drawings are dynamic 2D drawings extracted from clipping sections and are projected on either the clipping section plane or placed parallel to World XY-Plane.

Why project in-place?
Projecting in the true 3D location help organize drawings, reference their location and view the rest of the model behind them using different display modes.

Workflow to project drawings onto the clipping-plane:

  • Add a clipping plane to your 3D scene by using the ClippingSections command.
  • Run the ClippingDrawings command and set command options.
  • Notice that the command line prompts reads:
Placement point. Press Enter to project in-place”.
  • Press “Enter” to project in place.
  • Change the clipping-plane location and observe the drawing updating to the new location.
