Rhino WIP Feature: Offset Improvements

Hi all,

There’s been a number of quality of life improvements for Offset and OffsetMultiple in the Rhino WIP. First, we’ve improved the loose offset when there are kinks in the curve. The original curve is shown in blue and the loose offset is shown in black with its control points on.

Next, we’ve added the the Trim, Tolerance, BothSides, and Cap options to OffsetMultiple. These were options previously only in the Offset command.

The trimming of open curves has also been improved. In Rhino 8 when an open offset curve was trimmed only the region nearest the cursor was found. Now multiple trimming regions as well as the open portions are returned.

A tool that I use just about every day. Great improvement. Will save a lot of time trimming. I am also assuming the new tool will help sorting out curve Booleans that are associated with any offsets.

Thank you for your efforts, but there is still room for improvement. Please watch the video to see how merging is handled at the intersection of curves.
