is there any way to make the command line interface larger (history mode on mac)?
@rudolf.neumerkel yes you should be able to make it any size you like. What does your setup look like right now?
If it is docked like traditional Rhino for Windows at the top, drag down the lower edge of the container it is housing in.
I think this will be a great overall direction for the interface. Looking forward to providing feedback. I’m the SME for Rhino where I work, and I think this will go a long way with new users that are not used to a command line style interface, and wil be good good quality of life enhancement for long-time users that want quicker access to command line options.
Hello @AndersDeleuran
I just came across your comment here an thought I would share an interface setup I use for calling popup menus are the mouse location that I thought you would be interested in.
It works in Rhino WIP 9 with instant aliases pretty well…it also works with the new UI modes but it a little visualy glitchy.
I also use this currently in Rhino 8 with shortcut alias that require hitting enter or spacebar, but for some of the custom popups i use a stream deck bounded to the shortcut that hits enter for me.
You can popup pretty much any default toolbar this way…you can also create a save a custom toolbar and use its name to call it up. I find this to be very useful for minimum setups.
This is the basic format for the Alias macro:

it is in action:

I’d like to report this bug, enabling TestEtoCommandUI will break curveBoolean (as well as hatch)

Hi Tay -
It looks like you are getting further than I am but you didn’t provide the version number of the WIP that you are using.
In your video, it appears to be working as expected (or, at least how it has always worked on macOS?). Instead of hitting the Done button, you should be clicking in the region that you need.
In my test with (9.0.26007.18305, 2026-01-07), as soon as I’ve selected the curves and Enter to confirm, the command dialog disappears.
→ RH-91358 CommandPrompt (Eto): Search: No CurveBoolean
As a side note, I would always recommend that people who don’t want to use the command line, enable the “Command prompt” option in Modeling Aids → Cursor ToolTips.

I’m using Today’s (Daily build) hino 9 SR0 2026-1-8 (Rhino WIP, 9.0.26008.00305)
Haven’t Tried the WIP on mac yet but when the (windows style) History Mode is used can you right click on the history to bring up the recently used command list like the behavior on Windows.
I noticed the current Command History panel on Mac R8 doesn’t allow this right click behavior.
this is a big feature I miss from the windows version.
P.S. the ‘MRU’ bar is nowhere near as good as the command History right click menu, included Aliases, Undo, etc
@Alex_Pearson right click is implemented in all of them in Rhino WIP
Hi Gis,
What about MMB? Not on my Mac these days… ![]()
Is it possible to disable this functionality? Thank you
yes, you can now switch between 3 different modes:
Thanks Gijs, I probably didn’t explain myself well . How can I move from the new command UI
![]()
to the previous command UI. I am working on Rhino 9 WIP

Runing _CommandMode and choosing “History” should give you the Windows command line back
Thanks very much Gijs , it worked and I am now back to my “old” normal (during a delivery by the way).
Since you are asking for feedback in this thread, my opinion is that Users should be allowed to choose the type of UI they prefer. Some Users prefer icons, some others prefer keyboard shortcuts. Everyone has a different workflow. I personally have a hybrid approach, but never got into the Mac UI approach. I understand the need to unify the UIs (from Mac to PC, rather than the opposite for some reasons) and probably the majority of users love it, however, in my view, the traditional and well established command mode is efficient and light enough (particularly in terms of eye movements when looking for command options) for remaining loyal to the previous interface which I have been using for several years now.
isn’t that exactly what we offer here for the command line?
To clarify, I have been using Rhino 9 WIP for a while now and it is my daily Rhino version. Then, suddenly, following a major operating system crash, which caused having to reinstall everything on my system from scratch, when reinstalling the Rhino 9 WIP, I found myself in a totally new environment and had no idea how it came about and how I could go back to the standard UI, considering I was also in the middle of a deadline. If I didn’t discovered this thread, I would still be there trying to understand what happened. Moving to an entirely new default UI (which I was not asked to choose when launching Rhino for the first time after the re-install), which is the interface that people often have used for decades (as is my case since 1999), should be advertised as a significant/major change, which I have not seen in any newsletter (and I try to read all that I get, to avoid missing the train). So, if a default UI suddenly changes, at least users should be warned largely in advance in order to have time to plan accordingly and decide what to do. Without your help today I would have not had a clue on how to go back. Do I like this Mac style interface? I expressed my opinion based on the efficiency and motion of my eyes to find command options. If my feedback is not helpful, that’s ok. I would be grateful to know where this change is mentioned in “New in V9”, because I cannot find it. Other Users might incur in my same problem.
