Rhino WIP changing toolbar properties image

There has been huge volumes of discussions on the toolbars and icons in the WIP. I’m hoping I can be spared having to go through all that information to answer this question.

How do you change the image in the toolbar properties? When I was building the toolbars I need for Rhino 8, I recall being able to pick on the arrow, and there was a huge collection of svg icons to choose from. Does that still exist in the WIP (or if not, will it?).

Thanks,

Dan

I don’t recall that was ever possible. It only opens the svg editor AFAIK, where you can load one.

You can run TestDumpSvgs in the WIP and that creates a folder on your desktop with all the svgs Rhino has.

Hi Gijs, it’s definitely possible that I’m not remembering that correctly. If you try to change (or add) an image like I illustrated above is it working for you?

Don’t ask me how, but yes, it works. Some time ago I customized the toolbar with my own image and managed to do it. I honestly don’t remember the exact steps.

Drag it with drag and drop — you should be able to have it in your Rhino WIP.

I bring up the window with the middle mouse button.

My recollection is like Dan’s - I did a bunch of editing in the late V8 WIP stage and early release versions. But that was before the new button SVG editor was introduced. The ability to load an image from the library of ‘stock’ icons was there in the ‘old’ editor - IIRC. Otherwise I’m suffering from the same dementia as Dan.

Hi Gijs,

I notice that once I change an icon the WIP doesn’t allow me to change another. I have to close the WIP then reopen it to change another. That was the issue I originally inquired about. It does work, but only once.

Thanks,

Dan

I have a ticket to improve this functionality for the WIP.

RH-91588 is fixed in Rhino WIP

Here’s a short clip showing it in use too, I hope this does what you needed
