Rhino V8 toolbar resets and I always forget how to get it back

For some reason, a toolbar I have set to one column vertical layout with text, resets to a compact layout without text often when I start Rhino:

And worse, clicking on that silly large cogwheel shows a prominent “horizontal/vertical” setting at the very top… which apparently isn’t a setting that has anything to do with that toolbar, but rather a global tab layout setting? (No idea what that’s doing at the top instead of in the general Rhino Options, btw.)

So, then begins the hunt for where the actual setting is… if I edit a single button, I find out that they say their appearance is “inherited from the tab”… ok, so where are the tab settings? Due to the super consistent Rhino UI design, that’s of course found in “Properties”, which I want to note is not “tab properties” but “container properties”.

Not confusing at all! :face_with_spiral_eyes:

once you get it sorted the way you want it, go to windows>window layouts and save your window layout.

if it changes, you can simply reload the window layout.
