Rhino V6, objects in wrong layers

While working in RhinoWIP v6, and shifting between files using wsm, many objects suddenly changed from layer. also there are new layers appear. I have now layers called 'default 2’or ‘default 11’.

with one file I could fix it by closing and opening with V5, another one I can’t fix.

It makes a big mess of my layer structure!! this can cause lot’s of trouble. hope you can find out what happenes and are able to fix it.

Hi Baasab - what is wsm?

Hi Baasub - ah, OK, thanks - can you reproduce this? if you have an example, the simplest files possible, for easiest troubleshooting, or a set of steps to follow, that would be helpful - meantime, I’ll try to reproduce it.

Hi Pascal

See att. Reproducing is hard, as I don’t know how and when when it happened.
But if you look in the att. You’ll see that what supposed to be the roof is now the side, and what supposed to be aft is now roof and door.

Best regards,

Albert

I see…, that is not good, obviously, I’ll see if I can make it happen - can you tell if this is more likely in large or complex sets of files and attachments? If you do find a set of actions that makes this happen, please shout.

I had quit some big files running at that time. Maybe it has something to do with copying parts from other files which were attached. There were also BLOCKS in the files.

Yesterday I worked all day in the same wsm, and didn’t have problems. But I was very aware of it, while it can cause big trouble. So I saved a lot, and checked if all stayed in place all the time. Which for you isn’t very helpful……

Best regards,

Albert

Hi Pascal, it happened again. Still don’t know exactly where it happens but I have the feeling it has something to do with exploding blocks in combination with wsm.

Only feelings though….

Albert

Hi Albert - if you explode a block that is in an attached file, the result should come into the current file, is it making the incorrect new layers at that time?
