This webinar will guide you through the SubD workflow, from free-form design to practical fabrication.
We’ll start by exploring the fundamentals of SubD in Rhino and Grasshopper, focusing on how its unique geometry enables the creation of complex shapes with defined features, such as creases. We’ll use a form-finding exercise to give structure to a primitive form, showcasing the process with examples from our own projects.
Next, we’ll shift our focus to fabrication strategies. We’ll cover panelization and discuss how machine learning methods can be used for efficient panel layout. We’ll show how a SubD’s information is invaluable for both milling and robotic processes, demonstrating how to use prototypes from various projects to achieve complex manufacturing outcomes.
