Rhino User Meeting Paris review

A few weeks ago the Rhino User Meeting in Paris gathered together a group of users from different disciplines that could get inspiration and network with key users of Rhino who have developed outstanding projects.

Among others, Vincenzo Montefusco from Arup showed a few projects following their “Total Design” approach; Aurélien Blanc illustrated how Rhino was key to developing a huge and complex project like the Cité du Vin in Bordeaux; Yong Wook Sin from PSA Peugeot Citroën explained how he uses Rhino on a daily basis for styling, 3D modeling and rapid prototyping; and Jean-Claude Virleux brought an artistic touch when he shared with the audience his transition from purely traditional handcraft work to using Rhino and CAM tools to produce wood sculptures.

A few of the presentations and photos are on the Event’s website.

The User Meeting had also an exhibitors’ area where attendees could see in action some prominent Rhino plug-ins and complementary hardware: 3dRudder showed their foot- powered 3D mouse for CAD, VisualARQ demoed a flexible BIM software for Rhino, RhinoPiping showed how to add high-end 3D piping to Rhino models and V-Ray amazed users with their physically based lighting and rendering software.

It was an inspiring day that made all of us look forward to more Rhino User Meetings. Next stops will be Germany and Scandinavia. Stay tuned!
